A nice glass of red wine in the evening is a great way to wind down after a heretic day, and sometimes spills happen. And this spoils the entire atmosphere as we have to deal with cleaning the mess. Red wine stains are not as difficult to remove as your might think, especially if you are quick to act. The sooner you tackle the stains, the better.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

And depending on where you spill it, you\u2019ll need a different plan of attack.<\/p>\n

Carpet<\/strong><\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

    \n
  1. Blot up as much of the spilled wine as possible with a dry cloth.<\/li>\n
  2. Cover the red wine stain with salt until you can\u2019t see the stain.<\/li>\n
  3. Let the salt soak into the wet stain.<\/li>\n
  4. Once the salt fries, it should absorb the stain.<\/li>\n
  5. Then, simply vacuum everything up!<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    OR<\/p>\n

      \n
    1. Blot up as much of the spilled wine as possible with a dry cloth.<\/li>\n
    2. Mix one tablespoon of white vinegar and one tablespoon of liquid dishwashing detergent with two cups of warm water.<\/li>\n
    3. Using a clean white cloth, sponge the stain with the solution. Apply a little bit at a time, blotting frequently with a dry cloth until the stain disappears.<\/li>\n
    4. Then sponge with cold water and blot dry.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

      Upholstery<\/strong><\/p>\n

      \"\"<\/p>\n

        \n
      1. Using a clean white cloth, sponge the stain with a dry-cleaning solvent.<\/li>\n
      2. Blot until the solvent is absorbed.<\/li>\n
      3. Repeat Steps 1 and 2 until the stain disappears.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

        OR<\/p>\n

          \n
        1. Blot up as much of the spilled wine as possible with a dry cloth.<\/li>\n

          Fabric (Like your clothes)<\/strong><\/p>\n

          1. Place a cloth under the stained fabric to prevent the stain from spreading onto anything else.<\/li>\n
          2. Cover the stain in white vinegar which helps to neutralise red and purple pigments.<\/li>\n
          3. Immediately after applying the vinegar, rub in liquid detergent.<\/li>\n
          4. Then launder in hot water.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

            OR<\/p>\n

              \n
            1. Place a cloth under the stained fabric to prevent the stain from spreading onto anything else.<\/li>\n
            2. Sponge the spot with cool water or soak for about 30 minutes in a basin of cool water.<\/li>\n
            3. Pretreat with a prewash stain remover.<\/li>\n
            4. Launder. If it\u2019s safe for the fabric, add chlorine bleach to the wash.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

              If all else fails to remove the red wine stain (especially on a white carpet), mix one part liquid dishwashing detergent with two parts hydrogen peroxide. Sponge on; blot off. Rinse well. Be sure to test first in an inconspicuous spot to make sure the solution doesn\u2019t harm the color of the carpet.<\/p>\n

              * Note: When we say blot, don\u2019t rub. Dap at the stain. Rubbing will actually set the stain which we don\u2019t want it to happen.<\/p>\n
